How Do You Set Up A Pathway Account?
If you’re an incoming freshman at UMKC, you will receive a umsystem username. This will be emailed to you when you are admitted or may be available on your application status page.
To log in to your UMKC Pathway account, you’ll need to use your umsystem username to establish a password.
Here are the steps to setting up a UMKC Pathway account for new students:
- Check your admissions email or go to your application status page to find your umsystem username.
- Go to passwordreset.microsoftonline.com to establish or reset your password.
- Type in your UM System email address in the format [email protected].
- Enter the Captcha characters in the picture and click “Submit”.
- You will be prompted to choose a delivery method for your passcode. Choose either your alternate email, text message, or phone call.
- Enter your verification code, click “next”, and then set your new password.
- You can now use your username and password to sign in at umkc.umsystem.edu.

Providing E-Consent To Use UMKC Pathway
It’s important to know that before you can log in to UMKC Pathway for the first time, you must provide E-Consent. When you are setting up your account, you will be asked if you are willing to consent to doing business with the University of Missouri Kansas City online.
If you do not consent, then you will not be able to access Pathway online and you will have to do all of your transactions in person at the Administrative Center on campus.
After giving consent, you will be redirected to the login page where you will be asked for your username and password.
How To Log In To UMKC Pathway
If you’re a current University of Missouri Kansas City student, you can easily log in to your Pathway account with your UMsystem username and password.

- To log in to your Pathway account, first visit umkc.umsystem.edu on your web browser.
- Enter your umsystem email the username portion of the form.
- Enter your umsystem password in the password section.
- Click the “Sign in” button.
If you’re having trouble logging in, you can select “Can’t access your account?” and then enter your email or username to start the recovery process for your account.

How To Add Classes On Pathway
Need to add classes to your schedule? You can add classes on your own through the first week of each term on Pathway.
Here is the documentation that provides instruction for how to add classes through your Pathway account.
The main steps to take are:
- Log in to Pathway
- Select “Manage Classes“
- Choose “Enrollment” from the dropdown
- Select “Add a Class“
- Search for the classes you want to add and then choose “Select” to start the enrollment process.
- On the next page, check the enrollment requirements and class notes to be sure that the class is a good fit for your schedule. Then select “Next” to add it to your shopping cart.
- Once you have all the classes you want to add, select “Proceed to Step 2 of 3” in the enrollment shopping cart.
- Select “Finish Enrolling“
How To Drop Classes On Pathway
Need to remove a class from your schedule? First, make sure to check withdrawal deadlines in the academic calendar.

- Log on to Pathway
- Select “Manage Classes“
- Choose “Enrollment” from the dropdown
- Select “Drop a Class” and follow the prompts
